Nicky graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London University in 1993 - 20 years ago. After initially working in the UK, Nicky married a kiwi and emigrated to NZ in 1997. She bought Animal Care veterinary clinic in 2002 and took on Glenn as a partner in 2007.
Nicky has worked in many aspects of veterinary medicine over her career. She works with both small animals and also does a percentage of equine work. Her special interests are emergency medicine, ultrasonography and reproduction. She strives to keep up to date with all aspects of medicine with frequent continuing education courses, including a yearlong correspondence course in ultrasonography and attending the 2013 World Small Animal Veterinary Conference.
Nicky has a busy home life with dogs, cats, and numerous sheep, in addition, she has a very active daughter who was born in 2010. Nicky has a passion for animals and competed in show jumping in her youth and later on, dog agility.
Animal Care Vets is actively involved in our local community. We support a number of charities, including the SPCA. We also care for the Hawkes Bay Police dogs. Our customers know by experience that they can rely on us for sound advice on treatment options and that their pet is in the very best hands with our team.
